We ask for your patience during the months of January and February as we adapt our Payless West book drop to the winter storms that we are experiencing; we are having challenges working with the snow and ice that accumulates so quickly around the drop boxes.

If you find the Payless Drop Box full, please use the dropbox found at Lommel Park or at Lincoln Park in West Lafayette.

We intend to be proactive with ALL of our library drop boxes moving forward.

The "Big Read" for 2018-2019

The West Lafayette Public LIbrary is glad to partner with the English Department at Purdue aw we present our second annual “Big Read,” a voluntary common read program designed to link Purdue and Greater Lafayette readers.

With the help of campus and community partners, each year we select a great book, create a calendar of engaging events, and provide copies to English majors, Purdue students, local high schools, public libraries, and more.

The “Big Read” book for 2018-2019 is The Underground Railroad. Colson Whitehead will be the guest speaker for our 2019 Literary Awards Banquet.
